Thank You For Joining Us in Celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day 2015

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

2015 NCSD logoOn Sunday, June 7, tens of thousands of people around the world gathered in their local communities to commemorate the 28th annual National Cancer Survivors Day®. Hundreds of cities across the nation – and around the globe – came together to recognize the cancer survivors living in their communities and to raise awareness of the ongoing challenges they face.

We would like to thank the event coordinators who spent countless hours planning Survivors Day events in their towns and cities. NCSD could not happen without your hard work and dedication in hosting National Cancer Survivors Day® events for the cancer survivors of your communities. We can’t thank you enough for the work that you do.

We also want to thank the national sponsors who helped make NCSD possible through generous financial contributions. NCSD 2015 was sponsored nationally by Astellas, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Coping with Cancer magazine, with support from Amgen, Genentech, Seattle Genetics, Takeda Oncology, and Teva Oncology.

Finally, we want to thank the cancer survivors who celebrated with us, whether at a local Survivors Day event or in your own special way. You are the reason for this day.

National Cancer Survivors Day® exists to show the world that there is life after cancer. And while that is definitely something to celebrate, NCSD is also a call to address the physical, emotional, financial, and social difficulties cancer survivors face. We know there is still work to be done to lessen the burdens of cancer survivorship.

Once again, thank you to everyone who supported and participated in National Cancer Survivors Day® 2015. Without you, there would be no NCSD. We offer you our sincere gratitude.

We’re already looking forward to NCSD 2016, which will be held on Sunday, June 5. And we hope you’ll join us.
