Speaking Out

by Christian Bagg

I stumbled on Christian's website while trying to find new and interesting information for the NCSD website. I was so impressed with Christian and www.CripCollege.com that I contacted him right away to ask him if I could use his articles. I got a very quick response and he has generously offered to share his column "Speaking Out". This column will be a regular feature and updated monthly. Please visit Christian's site. There is much more to his site than his column. The website has many pictures, including a video of Christian's skiing accident. He is truely an amazing person.

Christian's mother, Kathryn Bagg has her own column on Christian's site, "Mother Knows Best". She is also willing to share these with us. After reading her articles, you will be able to see where Christian gets his wonderful outlook.

Hi, my name is Christian Bagg from Calgary, Canada. I've been in a wheelchair for 9 years now - was injured in a snowboarding accident when I was 20 years old. I didn't let the injury stop me from doing anything that I cared about before - I still maintain an active lifestyle and finished my college education as a machinist. Using my education as a machinist, I am now working for a medical devices company to improve something that could make a huge difference in the lives of those in chairs - by designing a brand new manual wheelchair for paras and quads. I've created www.cripcollege.com to share some of my stories about life in a chair, & am so excited to be working with the NCSD to help spread this knowledge through my 'Speaking Out' articles. I hope you enjoy my articles - no matter the disability, we can all learn from each other.
