National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation Thanks NCSD 2017 Organizers, Supporters, and Participants

Thursday, June 15, 2017

On Sunday, June 4, tens of thousands of people around the world gathered in their local communities to commemorate the 30th annual National Cancer Survivors Day®. Hundreds of cities came together to celebrate life and to raise awareness of the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship.

The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation would like to thank the NCSD event coordinators who planned and hosted National Cancer Survivors Day® events in their towns and cities. NCSD could not happen without the hard work and dedication of local NCSD event coordinators who work tirelessly to bring the Celebration of Life to the cancer survivors in their communities.

The Foundation also offers its sincere gratitude to the national supporters who helped make NCSD possible through generous financial contributions. National Cancer Survivors Day® 2017 was supported nationally by Coping with Cancer magazine, Elekta, Genentech, Janssen, Seattle Genetics, and Teva Oncology.

Finally, the Foundation would like to thank the cancer survivors who celebrated this 30th annual National Cancer Survivors Day®, whether at a local NCSD event or individually. These cancer survivors are the reason we celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day® each year.

National Cancer Survivors Day® exists to acknowledge cancer survivors, to raise awareness of the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face because of their disease, and – most importantly – to celebrate life. It is also a call to action to increase cancer survivors’ quality of life by addressing the unique physical, emotional, financial, and social burdens these survivors face.

Once again, the Foundation would like to offer a sincere thank-you to everyone who supported and participated in National Cancer Survivors Day® 2017. Together, we have made a mark in letting the world know that life after cancer is about more than just surviving; it’s about living well.

The 31st annual National Cancer Survivors Day® will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
