It is a day for everyone to join in solidarity with cancer survivors around the world, including the 15.5 million survivors living in the United States. It's a day you do not want to miss.

If you want to be part of something big, now is the time to start planning your National Cancer Survivors Day® celebration.

5 Simple Steps for Organizing a National Cancer Survivors Day® Event in Your Community

The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation has everything you need to organize a successful NCSD celebration. It's all available, free of charge, at ncsd.org/organize-an-event.

Here are 5 simple steps to help you get started.

Step 1: Register Your Event
Register your NCSD event online at ncsd.org/register to gain access to the exclusive NCSD Speakers Bureau Roster (which has contact information for nationally recognized celebrities and keynote speakers), as well as other valuable resources, including free copies of Coping® with Cancer magazine for the survivors attending your event. There is no cost to register, but you must register your event each year to use the copyrighted National Cancer Survivors Day® name and logo.

Step 2: Choose a Location
While many NCSD events are held at hospitals and cancer centers, don't be afraid to get creative with your location. Think amusement park, sports venue, conference center, art museum, or a local church or synagogue. Set the stage with official NCSD-logo balloons and banners - available to order from the NCSD Merchandise Catalog.

Step 3: Give It a Theme
Planning your event around a central theme is a fantastic way to create excitement about your celebration. You can find some inspired ideas to get your creative juices flowing on the themes page.

Step 4: Order Your T-shirts and Keepsakes
When cancer survivors leave your event, give them something to remember it by with official NCSD keepsakes, available to order from the NCSD Merchandise Catalog.

And don't forget your NCSD 2018 t-shirts! Featuring our trademark survivor celebrating life - a symbol of triumph for the millions of people living with and beyond cancer - the NCSD 2018 t-shirt is available in sizes Small to XXXL. The deadline to order t-shirts and merchandise is April 4.

Step 5: Get the Word Out
NCSD.org has the tools you need to promote your event. You can even download customizable press releases to send to local media and a sample proclamation for the mayor to declare Sunday, June 3, 2018, National Cancer Survivors Day® in your town.
