Dear Senator Dole,
I have just watched the Michael Moore movie Sicko and it only reaffirms my previous thoughts about America. That we are a nation of "ME" not a nation of "WE". This country is not living up to its potential as one of the more powerful countries in the world. We have a healthcare system that looks at us as profit only, not as an institution to take care of sick people. I demand that you support H.R. 676 written by Congressman Conyers. Bankruptcy and house foreclosures are primarily caused by excessive medical bills. Many people die each day because insurance companies reward employees who refuse treatment. The more an employee denies treatment the more the insurance company makes money; the incentives are for profit, not for health. In England (where the health cost per capita is lower than in the U.S.), physicians are also given incentives, but their incentives are for improving health, if you get your patents to stop smoking, you get a bonus – wow imagine that, what a concept, its so logical. We as Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that "Socialized Medicine" is evil and will only lead to poor health care and high taxes. We are constantly lied to and fed propaganda about this, from the cable "news" channels and politicians. It is about time that the citizens take back our government and stop allowing the lobbyist and businesses to run government. I don't know where your money comes from, but I believe just about all politicians in America are corrupt due to the influence of lobbyists and business money. So I demand of you to please stand up for the American citizens and support H.R. 676, do it today, do it now!!! Don't forget, you work for the American citizen, not the health insurance lobbyists and we don't work for you. If you are not willing to represent us, please resign now so we can get someone to fill your position who will. The propaganda has got to stop, universal health care is the most essential right we should have, without our health nothing else matters, nothing! No dinky tax cut will give us health care coverage.
